  • Amongst the template contemporary houses in this Shahbad neighborhood in Haryana, sits a home that announces itself through a lively green wall. Adorned with plants throughout the exposed concrete façade, Nature’s Abode stands out, blends in, as well as grows along with nature.
    #MyGreatFacade is a series presented by Fenesta Windows in association with #Buildofy
    The greens play an important role in architect Tawish Tayal’s first home, with an intention to make it climate-friendly for his clients. The harsh North Indian weather is combatted through design elements like the open floor plan, expansive openings, planters, as well as a central courtyard cutting through the volume. This creates well-ventilated living spaces that are naturally lit throughout.
    To download the full PDF e-Book of Nature’s Abode with floor plans, materials used, construction techniques and so much more, please visit:

    The lively green wall with planters, the Pooja courtyard, and the staircase are some key highlights of the project. Principal Architect walks us through the home, insightfully breaking down the design, the material palette, as well as incorporating greenery into architecture that justifies the term ‘built environment.’

    God and diety dwells within nature. A true heaven exist in nature. My best wishes to the architect. Sir can you please let me know how much aground floor would cost. I am interested in building a house of 250 sq yard in Mohali. Eagerly waiting for your reply. Thanks.

    As a nature lover, I loved the idea of huge concrete planters in the facade and greenery cascading from each of those planters. The square openings in between created a magical feeling. Wonderful project ! I'm sure, the residents of this building are a proud lot.
    By the way, the architect resembles the oft repeated depiction of Jesus Christ 😅 in many of the frames in the video. The Hollywood can definitely hire him.

    Its mind-boggling, but I have a question. As per neighbourhood pictures, could you please confirm how this main planter wall is allowed to make within the setbacks?

    • @tawishtayal
      @tawishtayal Год назад

      Its within the setbacks, due to the courtyard inside we get a better ground coverage so we are able to get a higher ground coverage.

    Two queries: firstly how do u solve the drainage on green wall and as well as treatment of wall interacted by plants? And secondly in case of window seats isn’t it danger for children?..

    • @tawishtayal
      @tawishtayal Год назад +2

      Window seats have a safety ledge for the same, also the windows can be opened only from a height where an adult can reach.

      @@tawishtayal : You replied to his second query, but skipped the first. Even I'm interested to know your response to his first question. Please enlighten us.

    • @tawishtayal
      @tawishtayal Год назад

      @@MuzahidAhmadall planters have a hole at the bottom which is a basic requirement for planters, through this holes water percolates to the lower planter. And eventually it reaches the floor and drains to the nearest rainwater drain line to the harvester.

      There is an inbuilt plumbing line laid and all the planters are watered in just 1 minute by the turn of a knob.

      In response to another query in the comments section, the Architect has mentioned that this particular building in this video is in a plot of 30x60.
      Going by his words, a similar design should definitely be possible in 24.5x 55.

    I know english is not your first language, but if you just take "coming" out of your speech it would sound better. No need to use that word in the ways you are using it. Stay blessed and I hope this doesn't come off rude. Great job on the build! I absolutely loved the concrete planter facade as well as incorporating greenery throughout the home.
